On February 06, 2012 a lot of actors from the Harry Potter cast attended the London Evening Standard British Film Awards 2012, such as Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley), her fiance Jamie Campbell Bower, Oliver Phelps (George Weasley), Clémence Poésy (Fleur Delacour) and perhaps Isabella Laughland (Leanne). I know it’s a little late, but I uploaded all untagged and middle- to high-quality pictures to the Image Archive.

Daniel Radcliffe goes backstage with Alan Rickman

There was a Hogwarts reunion at Broadway’s Golden Theatre on November 07 when Daniel Radcliffe(Harry Potter) nipped backstage to congratulate former Harry Potter co-star Alan Rickman(Severus Snape) on his Main Stem return in Seminar. The actors, who were all smiles in Alan’s dressing room after the show, are both currently gracing the Great White Way – at least until Daniel bows out of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying on January 1st.

Daniel R. picked a good date to visit. Thursday evening’s performance of Seminar – the show’s first press night before its November 20 opening – was canceled at the very last minute because Alan Rickman was suffering from an acute respiratory infection. (It’s the first time in the actor’s storied career that he’s ever missed a stage performance.) In Seminar, the 65-year-old star plays a cantankerous literary genius hosting a private seminar for four aspiring novelists in the play and obviously does a lot of talking (as well as spitting out choice insults). A rep for the show tells EW that “we expect to resume performances tonight!”

‘Harry Potter’ DVDs Disapparating From Store Shelves After Christmas

The Boy Who Lived won’t be living on store shelves for much longer.

It’s hard to deny that there’s a big market for the “Harry Potter” film franchise. The final film, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” went on to gross $380.5 million domestic and $1.3 billion worldwide, making it the highest grossing “Potter” movie to date. But less than a month and a half after “Part 2″ hits DVD and Blu-Ray on November 11, Warner Bros is going to put all the “Potter” films on moratorium until an unannounced future date.

Can we be the first blog to dub this the “Gringotts Vault” after Walt Disney’s “Disney Vault”?

All eight “Potter” films are going to be pulled off store shelves on December 29, including the eight-film collectors edition boxed set. Stores won’t be able to reorder any more copies after that until WB decides to release a new edition of the film. So make sure you put the “Harry Potter” films on your Christmas list if you want them because they’re going to be pretty hard to come by after that.

Disney fans should be familiar with this sales move, as it’s the main way Disney distributes their animated films. Movies like “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Lion King” and “Aladdin” are locked away in the Disney vault for several years until the studio decides to release a new, updated version of the movie often with better animation, new special features and a more expensive price tag.

This move by Warner Bros seems to be an attempt to maintain interest in the film series. It’s also a guarantee that a new, better version of the films with new special features and added bonuses will likely hit Blu-Ray and DVD within the next few years, so that might influence whether you decide to buy that deluxe boxed set now or wait until the better one comes out down the road.

Warner Bros. is pleased to announce the inclusion of some of the film series’ most iconic sets within the attraction including the Great Hall, Dumbledore’s office, the Ministry of Magic, Harry Potter’s famous cupboard under the stairs, 4 Privet Drive, Gryffindor common room, the boys’ dormitory, the Potion’s classroom, Professor Umbridge’s office, the Weasley kitchen, the Hogwarts bridge and many others still to be announced.

The unique walking tour attraction will offer visitors the very first opportunity to journey behind-the-scenes and experience the magic that has gone into creating the most successful film series of all time. Visitors will be able to see firsthand the sheer scale and detail of the actual sets, costumes, animatronics, special effects and props used in all eight of the Harry Potter films.

Happy birthday to our lovely Tom Felton, who portrayed Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter series and just turns 24 today. I can remember when he was that little 11-year-old villian who went to Hogwarts for the first time.

‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2′ gets DVD release

Warner Bros confirmed that the record-breaking final instalment of the eight-film series, starring Daniel Radcliffe(Harry Potter), Emma Watson(Hermione Granger) and Rupert Grint(Ron Weasley), will be available on DVD, Blu-ray, Triple Play and Digital Download in time for Christmas.

Blu-ray exclusives will include the 80-minute ‘Maximum Movie Mode‘ hosted by Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom), ‘A Conversation with JK Rowling and Daniel Radcliffe’ in which they discuss bringing the character to life, and Warwick Davis taking a behind-the-scenes look at the process of becoming a Gringotts goblin.

Along with numerous deleted scenes, ‘When Harry Left Hogwarts’ will see BAFTA award-winning filmmaker Morgan Matthews given unprecedented access to the creative decision-making behind the decade-long series.
Meanwhile, the entire Harry Potter series will be released in a box set collection on the same date. A special Limited Numbered Edition has also been made available for pre-order.

The release of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2“, which has become the third highest grossing film of all time, will be marked with a three-day celebration at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter park at Universal Orlando Resort. Cast and filmmakers will attend a series of special events beginning on Friday, November 11.

Fans Choose Severus Snape as Favorite Harry Potter Character!

The Guardian held a poll to find out which “Harry Potter” character is the favorite among fans of the franchise. Out of a total of 70,000 votes, Severus Snape, played by Alan Rickman in the movies, emerged as the winner with 20% of the votes. Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) was close to taking the top spot, but had to settle for second place.

The main character Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) took fourth place, behind Sirius Black (Gary Oldman) and in front of Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint). Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) ended up in seventeenth.

As far as author JK Rowling, her favorite character has always been Harry. But… “Now that I have finished writing the books, the character I would most like to meet for dinner is Dumbledore. We would have a lot to discuss, and I would love his advice.”

My (Harry Potter Web’s) Top 3 would have been Bellatrix Lestrange as the winner, followed by Ron Weasley, and Severus Snape would have taken third place.
